Kasaija appoints new NSSF head of legal services

Kampala. Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has appointed Ms Agnes Tibayeyita Isharaza as the new National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Corporation Secretary and head of legal.
She replaces Mr Richard Wejuli Wabwire, who in February was appointed High Court Judge.
Ms Isharaza joins NSSF from dfcu Bank where she has been the bank’s chief legal officer and company secretary.
In a statement issued yesterday, Mr Kasaija said the appointment, which takes effect on April 1, will see Ms Isharaza serve on a five-year contract.

The appointment, the statement said, was on recommendation by the NSSF board headed by Mr Patrick Byabakama Kaberenge.
NSSF, which currently is Uganda’s largest pension fund, has an investment portfolio of Shs7.78 trillion.
Ms Isharaza yesterday said given NSSF’s unique mandate in the socio-economic development of Uganda, she will commit much of her time in helping the Fund to attain milestones under the 2025 Strategic Plan.
Ms Sharaza holds a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, a post graduate diploma, legal practice fromLaw Development Centre and an Executive MBA from Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (Esami).

She has 16 years’ experience and has previously served as a board member on the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) from 2011 – 2017, where she represented Uganda Bankers Association.
She has also served as the chairperson of the legal and regulatory affairs committee of Uganda Bankers’ Association.
