Kazinga Channel Bridge reopened, motorists cautioned on speed

Nearly three weeks since its closure last month due to damage, the Kazinga channel bridge deck for on Ishaka—Katunguru—Kasese road has been temporarily fixed and reopened to traffic.

In a statement released by the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), this is to allow vehicles to use the bridge at the moment as an emergency procurement for short term works as well as plan for permanent works is being finalised.

“Motorists especially of heavy trucks and buses are advised to slow down and not exceed speed limit of 20km/h on the bridge,” the statement reads.
