Michael Kalinda, alias Ziggy Wine, a musician attached to a recording studio owned by Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulangi, aka Bobi Wine, died of brunt force trauma.

A brunt force trauma happens when a person is hit on the head by a hard object, breaking the skull bone and letting blood spill into the brain.
A medical personnel, who participated in the post mortem process at Mulago hospital, said Ziggy Wyne also had severe burns all over his body.
The officer, who declined to be named, said Ziggy’s urine and internal organs had been removed and taken for toxicological tests to check poisoning, but the results will take a while.
He also said Ziggy’s eye and left finger were intact, contrary to initial reports that the eye had been plucked out and the finger cut off.
Ms Immaculate Nalwadda Chocho, the elder sister of Ziggy, said her brother was kidnapped on the way to a family meeting in Kamwokya, a city suburb, last month.

At the time, Ms Nalwadda talked to Ziggy, he was riding his bicycle from Kawempe to their home in Kamwokya. The bicycle is still missing.
Ziggy passed away at Mulago hospital on Sunday night. He went missing on July 21 and was found on August 1 in the casualty ward of Mulago hospital.
“We were supposed to have a family meeting on July 21. When I called him he told me he was on the way from Kawempe. When he did not show up for the meeting, I thought he was with his friends,” Ms Nalwadda said.

She said when Ziggy failed to show up for the family meeting, she rang his number again but nobody answered.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said police had launched an investigation into Ziggy’s death and urged the family to cooperate with police.
“We take the whole episode from disappearance to resurface seriously. We have sent out a team to Mulago to retrieve the footage to see how he was dumped and who dumped him at Mulago hospital,” Mr Enanga said. He said police would be impartial in the investigations.
After the postmortem yesterday, Ziggy’s body was released to the family for burial.

Ziggy’s body was taken to Nsereko Gardens in Ganda in Nansana Municipality for the night vigil and is expected to be taken to Bushenyi District today. Burial is tomorrow.
