Six people die in Karuma road accident

Six people have been confirmed dead while 22 others are admitted to Kiryandongo Hospital following a road accident that involved two buses and a UPDF truck at Kololo Village, near Karuma on the Kampala-Gulu road.

The buses belonging to KK Bus Company and Nile Star Bus Company collided with a Jiefang UPDF truck

at Kololo on Kampala-Gulu road on Friday night.

The KK Bus company bus was destined for Koboko from Kampala while the truck was heading to Kampala from Lira town. 

It is not clear where the Nile Star Bus company was travelling.

The driver of the army truck died on spot while the driver of the KK Bus Company died after at Kiryandongo Hospital.

Maj. Ceasar Olweny, the Gulu-based 4th UPDF Division spokesperson, on Saturday confirmed the incident, saying a team of UPDF soldiers has been dispatched to the scene to get more details.
