The Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) has okayed late registration of candidates who are slated to sit for the forthcoming national examinations of 2019.

This, they say, will give a chance to students who missed out on the registration that ended last month.

Addressing journalists at Uganda Media Centre yesterday, the State minister for Primary Education, Ms Rosemary Seninde, said those students who missed out on the registration process will have to pay a double fee.

“All schools and parents should be keen on the registration status of their children. Those who would have missed out now have a provision for late registration and Uneb will assist them,” Ms Seninde said.

Mr Daniel Odongo, the Uneb executive secretary, said all parents should check for the registration status of their children on the Uneb website to ascertain whether they were registered by their respective schools or not.

“The registration status of candidates can be established from schools centres or by using our Uneb link by typing the index number of the students. For centres that have not fully paid their full examination fee or for any student who has not registered, the status will reflect not paid,” Mr Odongo said.

A big number of students have previously missed out on exams because they fail to register in time due to many factors.
