Rajiv Ruparelia is a driver on a mission in his debut season of motorsport.

After competing in three Autocross events this season which is the entry level to active racing, Rajiv is now ripe for an upgrade to the Club Rally Championship (CRC).

Out of the three events thus far, he registered victory in Kayunga two months ago and in Kapeeka last Sunday. Ray Kibira, the chairman of the sporting commission, confirmed that they have received an application from Rajiv requesting to join the CRC class.

Kibira added: “We (commission) meet on Tuesday in Lugogo and one of the items on the agenda was Rajiv’s Application.”

So far two drivers have graduated to CRC class this season, Peter Gensi and Peter Businge, who took part in V-Power Shell Pearl of Africa Rally at the beginning of this month.

If all goes well Rajiv will take part in his first NRC event at the UMC Challenge Rally set for Fort Portal from August 31-Sept 1.
