She Cranes stumble against England Roses

KAMPALA. Cranes World Cup and Commonwealth Games coach Rashid Mubiru believes it is high time the national team quit the unstructured kind of play and adapt to systematic netball if they are to overcome netball super powers.
On Tuesday night, the She Cranes fell 50-46 to world’s number two England Roses in the first ranking test series game held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. The same team defeated Uganda in the group stages of Commonwealth Games by 55-49.
“The English people systematically calculate their passes from one player to another unlike the She Cranes where every player runs for the ball a thing that leads to more turn overs and as well draining the centre players,” Mubiru said. He adds that coaches and players require training in as far as systematic netball is concerned.
Mubiru also blamed Vincent Kiwanuka, the She Cranes coach, for not making replacements among the shooters yet he had able shooters in Loughborough Lightning new dawn Mary Nuba and Stella oyella.
“I hope we shall see new faces in the next two games because these are test series aimed at giving a chance to all players,” he said.
The final two games in the series take place at London’s Copper Box Arena on Friday and December 2.
