Let yourself cry sometimes, it destresses you

What you need to know:

Cissy Nalumansi is a screen writer, director and producer. She only wears makeup when she must and eats chocolate to ward off the blues.

What is that thing you cannot do without?

My phone. It is the nerve centre for my business, starting from my clients, the scripts I write, the simple stories I shoot, signing contracts digitally or even scanning them to the clients. It is also what I use when updating my social media platforms, which is very instrumental in my career as a film maker.

What is your worst outfit buy ever?

Jump suits. Those things just fall flat on me.

What do you do when you feel low?

I eat a lot of chocolate, then I let myself cry because it clears my head and eye balls. When it is possible I engage the person frustrating me and try to talk things out.

What is your favourite perfume?

It has always been Dolce & Gabbana.

Which beauty trick works for you?

Always carry a lip balm. You cannot afford to have dry lips.  Also, making up only once in a long time because I realised that relying on makeup every day to boost your beauty lowers your confidence when you do not have it on. For a career like mine, it is a waste spending two hours doing only to see it get messed up during shooting.  Even if it is light make-up, you will sweat it off just halfway through your day.

How do you care for your skin?

I drink a lot of water and fresh juice.

What is your favourite colour?

I am fond of maroon and army green, however, my preference changes according to my mood and season.  But I have developed a lasting love for maroon.

Rucksack or hand bag? Why?

Rucksack. I always have to carry around some equipment such as a camera or laptop that would be too heavy for a handbag.

What is your basic fashion advice?

Fashion goes a long way with how you smell. The natural way to smelling fantastic is to use lemons in case you have a bad odour. Just rub the juicy part in your armpits before you shower and then seal it with a perfume or deodorant spray after a shower.
