How I keep fit: Grace Namara, Woman member of Parliament, Lyantode

I used to go to the gym with my friends, and also sometimes with the Parliamentary Netball Team, but because of my tight work schedule, I rarely do so these days.

But I plan to get back into my exercise routine soon. I already have gym membership at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort. To achieve my plans, I will have to change my work-out time from evening to morning, so that when I do not have a busy morning, I can go and work out.

Smile the stress away
I try to keep a stress free life by smiling all the time, regardless of the situation I find myself in.
As you know, smiling also keeps a person looking younger all the time.

My husband and I also go dancing every once in w while. This also helps us to keep fit and energetic.
I also take time to listen to music while I am driving. My favourite is country and gospel music. But once in a while, you can also catch me listening to local music because of the meaning those songs usually have.
When I have time, I also sit down to watch a good movie.
On weekends when I am in my constituency, I take time to do work in my farm, looking after the cows.
This is a very relaxing experience and removes a lot of stress from the body.

Eating healthy
In trying to keep healthy, every morning, I drink two cups of lemon water. I have read in some books that it can cut fats, and also acts as a de-toxicant for the body. If there is no lemon, I take green tea instead. I never miss luch because I have a huge apetite. Now I am working towards controlling this. In the meatime, avoid foods like meat, milk and bread that can potentially make me gain weight fast. I also try to avoid junk food, and only eat it when it is the last option that I have, especially when I have long meetings.
