Nation Media Uganda (NMGU) is mourning the death of Daily Monitor correspondent, Moses Okeya, who has died aged 41.

Okeya who was a correspondent based in Busoga sub-region and attached to the Jinja Bureau office, died Thursday evening.

The deceased’s last story was about the death of Jinja Catholic Priest, Father Gerald Picavet, who passed away on September 10 and he last made an office appearance on September 11 to cover the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Mayoral primary polls.

Mr Martin Owino, his younger brother, said the deceased passed away at around 9pm on at Bupala village, Buwunga Sub County in Bugiri District.

“The deceased has been sick for a while and had undergone multiple tests at Bugiri hospital and Nankoma health centre IV, and the results showed malaria,” Mr Owino said.
