Energy Minister Nankabirwa explains Isimba dam shutdown

Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa has given assurance that the closure of Isimba dam and the importation of power from Kenya will not lead to an increase of power tariffs. MPs had tasked the minister to explain what led to the problem at Isimba dam which reportedly flooded earlier this month. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa has directed the parliamentary committee on Natural resources to investigate the matter and table a report in three weeks.
