Speaker Kadaga warns MPs who dodge committee business
The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has barred legislators from attending workshops on days when parliamentary committees are transacting business.
This follows concerns that many bills have stalled in committee due to the absence of MPs to process them.
However, the chairperson Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee Jacob Oboth Oboth attributed this to low sitting allowances given to MPs who in turn resort to workshops where they get more.
