Java House opens branch with pharmacy, playground in Jinja

Java Coffee House in partnership with Vivo Energy have opened an outlet at Shell Amber-court in Jinja District which is fitted with ATMs, a pharmacy, tyre centre and a children play ground, a move they say will provide convenience to their customers and make shopping easier than before.

Speaking at the launch, Vivo Energy group CEO Christian Chammas, who has been on a visit to country said that the company's aim is to provide an exceptional retail experience at each of their sites, reaching more people with better products and services wherever they do business.

“Retail is the heart of our business and is driving our growth across Africa. With over 1,700 Shell service stations in Africa, and 129 in Uganda, we have ambitious plans for further expansion,” Mr Chammas said.

Also in Attendance was Mr. David Muriethi, Executive Vice President for Supply & Marketing at Vivo Energy Group, Jinja Mayor, Majid Batambuze, Vivo Energy Uganda Managing Director, Hans Paulsen, Standard Chartered Managing Director, Herman Kasekende, among others.

Vivo Energy has already invested in 52 quick top up shops, 24 of which are recently refurbished. Currently 7 stations have quick service restaurants and will be 10 by end of the year.
