Vodafone Uganda has appointed Allan Richardson as its chief executive officer.
Mr Richardson replaces Mr Tage Rasmussen who has been the acting chief executive officer for Vodafone Uganda.

The new entrant in Uganda’s competitive telecommunications market launched its commercial operations in Uganda on February 9, offering both voice and 4G LTE high-speed data services.

Mr Richardson who has over 20 years’ experience at “C” Level and a hands on business education gained at companies such as Diageo, ITT and Shell, has a track record of achieving results in challenging and competitive environments..

Mr Richardson has worked in the telecoms industry as a Programme manager, CFO, COO and CEO and has been responsible for launching new operations and managing restructuring programmes in countries such as Thailand, Sweden, Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

Prior to joining Vodafone, Mr Richardson worked as the interim chief operating officer for Digicel Haiti which he joined in November 2013. He has also been involved – via Quicksilver Management Services - as an advisor and non –executive director with businesses in telecommunications and software services.

Vodafone operates in at least 26 countries around the world and has partnerships in 54 markets around.

Who is Richardson?
Education. He is a British national, a qualified accountant and holds Masters Degrees in International Banking and Information Technology.
Interests. He is interested in change management, team building, corporate governance, programme management, IT, Commercial and Financial management.
