Tusker Project Fame season 4 kicks off

Ugandan Project Fame contestants Davis Ntare and Thomas Madooba.

The Tusker Project Fame season four started on Sunday with 19 contestants drawn from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Southern Sudan. The Ugandans are Davis Hillary Ntare, who has backed-up Maurice Kirya besides teaching producing music in different studios.

The others are Brendah Nankinga, Rachel Namubiru and Thomas Madooba Kirya a.k.a Cowboy. Cowboy says that he is expected to do himself justice since he has a diploma in Music, Dance and Drama from Makerere University and a certificate in Communication and Management skills from the International People’s College in Denmark.

He likes watching movies, football, playing badminton and music in general. He admires Jesus Christ, President Muammar Gadaffi and Martin Luther King for the impact that they have had on social life. His icons are Nelson Madiba Mandela and Abraham Lincoln.

The five will face off with Rwanda’s Atete Gaëlle (Gaga), Gilbert Gabiro, Elizabeth Gaga, Liz Mugwaneza and Gilbert Gabiro.

Tanzania has Cynthia Bavo, Peter J. Msechu, Aneth Samuel Kushaba and Leah A. Mwambogela. Kenya has been represented by Amileena Mwenesi, Juvenalis Ochieng Amonde, Prudence Kibaya and Stephen Nyabwa. Southern Sudan sent in Paleki Matthew Obur and Kuonck Deng, a journalist from Juba.

The finalists were announced after a nerve wrecking 12-hour do where the contestants ability to either sing, sing and perform or sing and play an instrument was put to the test.

Sheila Mwangigah and the flamboyant Uncle Mich return as the show hosts. Sheila has hosted the show from season one and she has won the hearts of many viewers but the introduction of Mich, last year, added zing to the show and there was no doubt he was going to return.

And Mich is not the only Ugandan returning to the show with Juliana Kanyomozi making a comeback as a judge to the show.
