Dressing for a music concert

An easy trick is to start bottom upwards. Once you have chosen your shoes, go about finding the perfect outfit to complement your shoes. For example;

• Try a pair of skinny jeans, especially if your choice of shoes is boots to create a fashion forward, sophisticated look. Or, you could pair your boots with a pair of bright or pale-coloured jeans.
• A pair of leggings in a complementary colour tone for your shoes would also be ideal.
• For heels or more strappy shoes, try a fitted miniskirt or peplum skirt for a more feminine look, especially if it is an indoors concert where you do not have to struggle with digging your heels out of the ground the whole time.

Putting your concert look together

Here is a complete guide for you from head to toe about what to wear to that concert;
The shoes
Keep in mind you will be on your feet most of the time and might be dancing. Therefore;
• Wear heels or wedges you are comfortable enough in that you can stand for say five hours straight without needing to sit down.
• Comfortable flats are a better choice. Go for some colourful ballet flats or festive sneakers.
• Boots are a more conservative choice but are still very fashionable. They are comfortable, fashionable, and look fabulous with jeans.
• Avoid open toe flats or sandals. Venues are crowded and full of people moving and dancing. You are likely to get your toes stepped on.

The dress
Choose a simple short dress that you can accessorise well.
• Try wearing a fitted dress or a cut-out heavy dress. Throw on a colourful pair of heels, or a pair of sultry boots to add depth.
• Wear something a little bit more fitted than a maxi dress if it is a nightime concert as these are better suited for the hot daytime shows.

The top
Use this to create a look that is feminine and sophisticated.
• If you are wearing jeans, adding a white T-shirt is always chic, especially when they are extra loose, have detailing or ruffles, or have an interesting cut.
• If you are wearing a colourful fitted mini or peplum skirt, create a feminine look by completing it with a tucked in looser tank top.
• Try on a sparkly shirt or something in a bright colour to stand out more.
• Make sure your top is made of cotton. You will be dancing and moving around in a hot room and you will most likely get very sweaty. Cotton is best for absorbing sweat.

Accessories
• Chose a pair of earrings that make a statement. If you have multiple ear piercings, choose one statement earring and wear simple studs in the others.
• Layered necklaces are all great accessories that don’t overpower your outfit, but provide a nice fashionable twist.

The make up
Too much make up will run if you get active and start to sweat. A bold lip, some eye liner, and polished nails should be enough to make your look fashionable.
Pay attention to your hair too but don’t overdop it so that it draws more attention than the artistes.
