Lamudi rewards users through Social Media Challenge

The real estate boom in the country has of late attracted different service providers. Some of whom have embraced the technology more especially social media to engage different stake holders on what they feel about the real estate industry in Uganda.

Service providers like Lamudi , a global property portal that focuses on emerging markets launched a campaign dubbed the Lamudi Challenge centered on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The challenge which lasted three months required the participants to post photos depicting their real estate experience in Uganda and also scenic views from within Uganda.

Kiganda Shakim Fahd, a participant in the campaign emerged winner of the Lamudi Challenge winning shs300,000. The runners up were each rewarded with gift hampers.

Shakib Nsubuga, Country Manager of Lamudi Uganda, said the challenge was set up to engage the different stakeholders and also showcase the various dynamic aspects of the real estate sphere Uganda.

“This is why social media platforms were the perfect avenue to use as they open up the challenge to all the different stakeholders in the real estate international scope.”

He added that the outcome of the challenge has been overwhelming, with the impressions for the campaign getting to 145,000 and a reach of 38,000 during the height of the campaign and interactions with different participants helping to provide audience for the sensitization of all the diversified aspects of real estate.

“Therefore the company plans to organize an even bigger social media campaign in-line with the LamudiUG challenge. As there are many aspects of the real industry that the company would like to sensitize and educate the public about, while also helping to expose the wonderful array of real estate potential in Uganda,” Nsubuga said.

The real estate web portal also celebrated achieving a milestone of 11,000 listings on its online portal due to its easy to use platform.
