Planning for a compact storeyed house

The best way of building a spacious house on a small piece of land is by having a compact plan.

This plan is of a compact two-bedroomed double-storey house that is suitable for small families. This type of house can be built as either a home or apartment units with a primary purpose of providing accommodation.
You can benefit from building this kind of house in various ways of which some are listed below.
Maximum utilisation of internal space
Since the design is compact, meaning all the space components of the house are put together to realise maximum space usage therefore every inch of space counts, every space is meant for a purpose; and there’s no space wastage. It may not be the most comfortable but you are sure to have enough space to live in.

Land factor
Another benefit with this compact design is, it occupies a small portion of the plot; therefore one can build multiple houses as the plot size may allow, for income generation.

Construction cost
The simplicity of the design also means that the construction cost is also reduced. Such a design will require few columns. Given that it is a small house, the slab will be small as well with a few walls by having open spaces on the ground floor.

Interior of the house
The ground floor comprises of the following;
The entrance to the house on the porch through the open plan living room, and kitchen, which has a breakfast nook, space for a fridge, stove and sink. The kitchen also has a back door that leads to the kitchen yard.
The stairs to the first floor is a single flight (no turn) and, leads from the kitchen. This covers little space which fits the design theme; the area below the stairs can be used for storage.

The upper floor comprises of the following
Two bedrooms with built in wardrobes.
A bathroom with a bath tub, toilet seat, wash basin; shared by the two bedrooms.
