What you need to know:

  • Kiss of nature: Uganda is a beautiful country and many tourists from neighbouring countries and overseas have realised it.
  • It is up to Ugandans to wake up, discover and appreciate the beauty of their country and promote it in all fora, as Edgar R. Batte writes.

Banana Village Eco Village has its silent moments, so quiet that you can hear your thoughts mumble a little loudly because the peace lets them be. It is the place not so far from the city with rich perches of the rural setting.
There, in the African splendour of sculptures that individually stand in beautiful craft that tell of African lifestyle, a lady carrying a matooke bunch, two men carrying their hunt accompanied by a dog, men in traditional regalia playing games, and more.

Indeed Africa society as we knew it through social studies and history comes alive at the Banana Village, where ecology thrives, in well-mewed grass dotted with trees, plants and a mini-forest at its foot end. The beautiful formations also lie in the cemented walkways that have flowers decorating their sides, with predominant green and other colours. It is not only humans that walk these paths, monkeys are the other residents that stride within the resort’s stretches.
The caution is written on the trees for you not to feed the playful cousins. Talking about games, if you are to go as a family, the children will be engaged at the slides, bouncing castle and more.

Besides their play area, are two swimming pools, one for the little ones and another for adults, so if you agree to swim at the same time, you will be able to look out for one another as you have fun. The set-up of this section of the Banana is to ensure you have as much fun as is on offer. There is a stocked pool bar with different brands to taste or sample.
In the bar area, you can sit down and play some board games which are set on tables. Otherwise, it is big enough and has eating space, affixed with a dining table covered in a light shade of brown. If you care for Chinese lifestyle of Feng Shui, it is either consciously or unintentionally put to use, and display; enough light, good arrangement of sitting facilities and tables with plant life in pots and bottles. The wall art is complementary to the simple beauty.
The staff members are keen and amiable thus it feels like they are family. “it’s a cool place without noise, breath taking moments, spacious in terms of compound, dedicated service from the staff, nice restaurant with good meals, security is paramount, they have nice and clean cottages fitting to your needs,” one of the visitors posted on TripAdvisor, a travel website. Banana Village Eco Resort is a family-run tourist spot.It will take you 20 kilometres from Kampala.
