What you need to know:

Goodwill. Meet a group of christian women who have devoted their lives and income to helping the vulnerable. Roland D. Nasasira attended of such events.

January 14, 2012 saw the start of a beautiful journey in the kingdom of God that begun with a launch of a group of five women that was named Wives With A Purpose (WWAP) at Ndere Centre in Ntinda.
Key things that this small group learnt and got exposed to as God’s messengers were among others how to become irresistible wives who would raise Godly children, never to pack their bags but fight on and stand all challenges in marriage. Most importantly, be wives directed of the God in all they did. “Sharing experiences and how we overcame them was a key healing tool in going forward as a group,” Joweria Butele, one of the group founders recalls.

Purpose
She adds; “as we grew up, we learnt to do a number of things together such as giving back to society, cooking classes, planting of home fellowships and inspirational speaking in colleges, universities and Christian gatherings.”
Butele explains that God then led them to the bigger picture that saw them rebrand from wives with a purpose to women after God (WAG) with a devine purpose in order to embrace women in totality. “We believe God is raising women to take his kingdom to the next level. The marrieds, singles, widows, teenage girls and the baby girl are our responsibility in this journey,” she cites.
It is Women after God with a Devine purpose that then saw the birth of a fully registered non- church attached ministry, Divine Purpose Ministries International on September 16, 2013 to extend the love of Christ to men, children and everything woman is responsible for. “We now have men, children, teenager and singles after God with a divine purpose respectively.”
Butele says they conceived the idea of starting up this ministry because they believed it’s the corporates in Christ who are able to support the vulnerable.
“Whatever we get from our work places is what we use to put a smile on that person who needs support. We support people who we think will grow and also help others,” Butele says.

Beneficiaries
On deciding whom to support, Butele says they, a group of less than 12 active women out of the over 50 that previously joined them, get different proposals, vet them. Then, they go on ground to look at the facility and decide which orphanage centre registered by government or vulnerable group or person to support.
“We support those known by government because some people set up these centres for business and not to serve God.
After identifying whom to support, we interact with them for about three months looking for consistency and also identify with them,” she explains.
In the January to May 2015 action plan, Divine Purpose Ministries International has paid Enoch Kasumba. school fees and the necessary requirements. Kasumba is an orphan from Masaka .
The ministry has also visited God’s Grace Orphanage Centre in Kyebando and donated scholastic materials and food stuff. On May 6 2015 with support from Stella Nyapendi, Uganda Revenue assistant commissioner, they donated food stuffs to the Widow’s Intercessors Ministries, a church group that looks after widows from 29 districts.

Inspiration
Butele also surrendered her land on which they are starting effective May 2015 to implement projects such as planting tomatoes, maize and cabbages to provide food for the orphanage centres they support.
It is from the testimonies they receive from different people that they get the inspiration to continue giving back to society socially, spiritually and materially. “We appreciate that God gives us extra income and good jobs. We have confidence that God and Jesus Christ is in our charity work with us to change people’s lives,” Butele points out.
Along Masaka road in Buddo and Mpigi, Divine Purpose Ministries International bought plots of land to develop and hand over to God’s Grace Orphanage Centre. God’s love have to be spread through giving.

Objectives
Butele explains that Divine Purpose Ministries International objectives as a charity group include among others reflecting God’s heart for those who are poor, oppressed, widows, orphans and prisoners and also to glorify God by cultivating virtues of purity, modesty, meekness and love.
