Youth too need guidance

Recently, Pastor Sac Mutyaba of Christ Heart Church International in collaboration with Pastor Nickson Ouma of Koinonia Fellowship held feast of general’s youth conference at Emerald Hotel on Bombo Road.

The conference brought together the youth from the working class and University students. Pastor Ouma says they chose a hotel because they wanted a place that was neutral and convenient to all regardless of religious domains.

He adds that the main goal of the conference was giving the youth a platform to share physical and spiritual experiences.

“In some churches, youths are purposely recruited as entertainers. Very few pastors spare time to discuss the challenges they are facing,” he says
Some youths revealed the challenges they are going through some of which are work and school stress, unemployment, anxiety, fear, and relationship disputes.

Solomon Kisakye, one of the organisers said the participants were given career, marriage and academic guidance from stories shared by their colleagues and clergy.

Pastor James Ole Mark told the youth to be confident in everything they do.

He says some youths fail exams and jobs because of fear.
“You might be a graduate and you fail to get a job because of fear. Every time you see a job advert, the evil spirit tells you that you cannot manage it. Write your application and leave everything to God,” Pr Mark urges.

Pr Ouma emphasised that everyone needs to the throne of glory since it was the theme of the conference, arguing that through sharing, helping, networking and praying for each other is the way to go.

“When you connect friends to jobs or help them pass exams, God rewards you for that,” he says.
Pr Grace Lubega took participants through the importance of tithing in a single church. He says tithing in different churches is bad as having no trust in your own church, pastor and God.

“Don’t sow seeds in different gardens when you trust God. Pray to God that the course you’re doing or the job you have is enough to drive you to the horizons of life,” Pr Lubega told youth to be contented with their decisions.
