I was misled, Muntu tells FDC officials

On the FDC WhatsApp group…
Franca: Can someone explain this letter I am seeing signed by president Muntu. Did the party reach a consensus without my knowledge?
Nabilah: What happened has happened. Not everyone is supposed to be consulted. But why is Ingrid even trying to be there? She lost already.
Alaso: Tell them, Nabilah. That noisemaker was defeated.
Mwijukye: Bwana Muntu, what happened?
Munyagwa: I don’t think the general is on this group.
Franca: Admin should add him. We need explanations.
[Ssemujju has added Muntu to the group]
Katuntu: Am I the only one concerned that the said letter was signed by Muntu and not our SG Mafabi or even his deputy Kaija? On February 7, it was the SG who wrote to parliament.
Winnie: Muntu is the party president.
Katuntu: But that role belongs to the SG.
Mwijukye: [Sends copy of the parliament rules of procedure with the clause indicating whose letter parliament would recognise]
Ogwal: So if the party arrived at that decision, why didn’t the SG write the letter?
Winnie: I said Muntu is our party president, with powers above that of the SG.
Okumu: Where is the SG?
Muntu: I am aware that some of you have sentiments and it is understandable. But we need not drag the party into unnecessary confrontations over Eala slots.
Kasozi: So we are discussing issues of Ingrid but she is not on this forum. She should be added.
Alaso: This is a forum for legislators, not just anybody can join in because of their talent for painting pigs yellow and dropping them at parliament.
Gonahasa: Says the one court threw out recently.
Oguzu: Alaso, if you are still on this forum, then I don’t see why Ingrid shouldn’t be added.
Wamai: Yes, add Ingrid just for today. We could hear her story if she was consulted over the withdrawal.
[Ssemujju has added Ingrid]
[Ssemujju has added Ibi]
Fungaroo: Now that makes for a fair debate. Ingrid, were you consulted?
Ingrid: I’m still waiting for a copy of the letter. Only then can I reply formally.
Oyet: One Uganda, One People.
Kaginga: Ingrid, this is formal enough. Were you consulted?
Alaso: What does it matter if she was consulted or not? This was a decision by the party and for the party.
Ingrid: The person who signed that letter has no authority to withdraw me. I don’t know if he is aware of this, but I am still in the race.
Turwamu: But Alaso, you don’t need to keep going like that.
Katuntu: General, what happened?
Muntu: We sat and agreed on the way forward. That is what happened. The decision is for the party, not by Muntu or whomever.
Ogenga: So who were the parties to the discussion that conceived this conclusion?
Winnie: What is wrong with these people?
Munyagwa: Yamawe! Parliament has written back slapping down Muntu’s withdrawal order. He has no powers to make such a directive. They want the SG to be the one to sign the letter?
Muntu: When was that?
Okupa: Now I smell a rat.
Ongiertho: [sends a copy of the letter by parliament]
Katuntu: How are we going to continue challenging NRM to account when we can’t even follow a simple rule?
Okupa: That was an attempted coup on the office of the SG.
Ariko: Due respect, Muntu, you goofed. Where is the SG?
Muntu: The SG is out of office so I had no choice.
Mafabi: Should I even respond?
Otto: What of his deputy?
Munyagwa: The whole thing was played out by these guys. How can we explain this to the people who believe in our transparency?
Muntu: I think it was just an oversight on my part.
Mwijukye: How can that be an oversight? You should withdraw the letter immediately.
Katuntu: Withdraw a letter that has been slapped down?
Fungaroo: Force majeure there. Someone should apologise.
Muntu: I think I was misled. We are going to correct this.
Nabilah: *@%^&*!
Alaso: What’s wrong with parliament? Can’t these people understand that FDC president is above the SG? Would they have quashed Museveni’s directive and asked that only Lumumba should write?
Ingrid: Alaso, you will be okay.
Okupa: Now Muntu has replied to parliament indicating his oversight of the rules of procedure and that the SG is away.
Mwijukye: Along with the deputy SG?
Mafabi: Interesting.
Fungaroo: But Muntu maintains that the withdrawal stands…
Ingrid: Yes, in his dreams.

On the general MPs’ group…
Nambooze: Otto, is that a joke you wrote that the Education minister spent Shs14 billion for a three-day workshop?
Otto: This country is done. It’s done completely.
Otafiire: I am told it is that mavi ya kuku who revealed the information when being grilled.
Nsereko: Hehehe, @Bahati, you come and see Otafiire has fired the first shot this time.
Lokodo: But why does this man use such disrespectful language? Can’t Otafiire respect his age and person of high standing? Mavi ya what?
Otafiire: Lokodo, if you knew how much I despise you… I am yet to find a proper word to describe you. Why don’t you go and produce holy toothpicks for your flock since it’s a fad for churchmen to sell holy water, holy rice and 77 dogs to its follows? After eating a kilo of holy rice, your holy toothpick might come in handy.
Lokodo: Just imagine!
Rugunda: Please Otafiire, go slow. You might kill us with laughter.
Munyagwa: Hahaha!
Lokodo: So some of you actually find this man’s insults funny?
Munyagwa: Uganda is importing gold, but where is this gold coming from?
Bahati: Ask Otafiire…
Otafiire: My friend, this is where you cross the Rubicon. Otafiire did not disturb any pygmies in the Congo jungles.
Bahati: You were once named in illicit timber trade.
Otafiire: Yeah, since you know so much, maybe I used your teeth for a hacksaw.
Nsereko: Hahaha, this man doesn’t lose.
Fungaroo: Gold must be coming from Karamoja.
Ssekikubo: I doubt the gold is coming from Karamoja.
Tumwebaze: These speculators can ruin the economy.
Kasaija: Does it matter where the gold is coming from? If the end result does the economy fine, why make noise?
Fungaroo: Congolese rebels like Makenga were being fed in Uganda. They lived large in Mbuya. Why? Because they are useful in helping their masters plunder DR Congo.
Munyagwa: Makes sense.
Tumwebaze: Such nonsense will earn some of you summons.
Otto: Stop your threats. This is a forum for open-minded people.
