Ajax in need of a turning point in Fufa Women Elite League

Kampala.

Ajax Queens need a big result in their Victoria Group away encounter at Kawempe Muslim today in the Fufa Women Elite League (FWEL).
A win against Kawempe – who have won three league titles on the bounce – might not mathematically guarantee a place in the playoffs just yet but could count as a turning point for the side that needs a change in fortunes. For the past three seasons, the Wakiso side has failed to translate their good starts to the season into a place to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Gafford – the other Victoria Group side with a chance to go through – are also hosting She Corporate, a side they usually struggle against. Anything less than a win for Gafford could put paid to Gafford’s chances of a playoff spot.
In Elizabeth Group, Olila with 23 points in nine games, have a chance to tighten their grip on the leadership of this group as they host fifth placed Wakiso Hills that have just eight points in 11 games.
Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals, 20 points, and Uganda Martyrs High School (UMHS), 21 points, cancelled each other out in their first leg encounter in Lubaga.
The two face off today in a game that will determine which of the two sides will remain with a chance to make the playoffs in the final Elizabeth Group game.
