Bisaso unfazed ahead of Lweza

What you need to know:

  • Soccer. Villa president Ben Misagga has sent out a clear message to his technical team that he will not spare them if they lose to Lweza.

KAMPALA.

Even when the guillotine table has already been prepared for SC Villa Shafiq Bisaso, he insists he is not losing sleep ahead of this evening Azam Uganda Premier league (AUPL) date with Lweza at Nakivubo.
Villa president Ben Misagga put it in bold letters this week that Bisaso, who has drawn the last two league matches – against Bright Stars and basement boys JMC, must win against Lweza to hold onto his slot – else his new deputy Wasswa Bbosa steps in with immediate effect.
“I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me because my sacking letter has already been drafted. I’m not under any pressure but as it is any coach’s prayer, I will set out for a win today,” Bisaso told SCORE.
He says the 16-time league champions, second on the UPL table, were hit by the long recess and are still struggling to incorporate new players in their set up.

Best partnership
“We are still looking for the best partnership upfront. New signing Emma Okwi is still not match fit but has to play due to his vast experience. The other two strikers Alex Kitata and Umar Kasumba are still learning to play with him,” he added.
Bisaso will be without suspended defenders Paul Mbowa and Henry Katongole but welcomes back moody attacking left-winger Vitalis Tabu. On his first chance to avenge Villa sacking, Lweza coach Ibrahim Kirya held them to a 0-0 draw at Wankulukuku but he says a win is possible this time round.
“We have experience players like Owen Kasule, Manko Kaweesa, Asuman Buyinza, Ronald Muganga, Sulaiman Ochwero and Jeremiah Ssebuyira that can give Villa a run for their money,” he warned.

Bright Stars without pay
Fred Kajoba told SCORE that his charges at Bright Stars are motivated by the love and friendship he shares with them rather than the eight-month’s salary they owe the club.
“Soana know that they are going to play a club in salary arrears but our spirit remains strong. My players are ready to fight for their careers like they did against Villa recently,” he said. The Mwererwe-based side is seventh on the log with 24 points after 17 outings.
