Buzz Black Pirates might never get a better opportunity of re-writing history by winning their first league title when they entertain Shell Rimula Rhinos today at Legends in the Nile Special Rugby Premiership.
With a nine-point advantage and three games to play, Pirates need victory over second placed Rhinos and then they can pop the champagne. But Pirates coach Bobby Musinguzi is not about to celebrate and he opts to remain calculative.
He knows how massive the game is and will ask the Sea Robbers to stick to the winning formula that has their rivals chasing shadows throughout the season.
“Its a massive game for us and we pray God directs us to victory,” Musinguzi told SCORE.
“For us, it is going to be the same approach, taking care of the ball, making the right chooses and being efficient when there is a scoring opportunity,” he added on how they will approach the championship game. Even with key players missing while at national sevens duty, Pirates have swum against the tide to keep cashing in because of the squad depth and good coaching at the club.

Stepping up
“The young players have stepped up in the absence of key players. They have played some good rugby and I believe they cant wait to step on that pitch against Rhinos,” added the former scrum-half. Rhinos have already made it clear of how eager they are to keep Pirates waiting by beating them today.
