KAMPALA. Police in Kampala are investigating the kidnap and murder of a 19-year-old woman.
As police in Uganda grapples with challenges of solving the increasing crime rate, Brinah Nalule has become the latest victim of kidnap and murder cases which have rocked the country.

She was reportedly kidnapped in a taxi at Old Taxi Park in Kampala on Sunday afternoon by unknown thugs who according to Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire demanded Shs10m ransom.

"Her kidnappers demanded Shs10m from parents but parents decided to involve police. The kidnappers strangled her and dumped the body in Kibaawo zone in Mutundwe, Rubaga Division in Kampala," Mr Owoyesigyire said.

Police said a team of detectives had been dispatched to establish the killers after Nalule's body was identified by parents at Mulago hospital on Tuesday evening.
"We found her body in a state of a person who had been strangled or suffocated to death. We are investigating kidnap and murder," Owoyesigyire added.
