Chameleone, Kenzo for Ugandans in North America festival

Dr Jose Chameleone is expected to thrill delegates at the UNAA Causes' Uganda Festival

KAMPALA.
Self-proclaimed music doctor, Jose Chameleone and BET award winner Eddy Kenzo will be among the many entertainers, business experts and professionals as Ugandans in North-America under their umbrella, Ugandans in North-America (UNAA Causes) meet for their annual social event.

Ugandans in North America have been coming together each year in a chosen North American city since 1988with a mission to network, share opportunities, and experience Ugandan culture in their new abroad homes.

This gathering is one of the largest and most anticipated associations of Ugandans in the diaspora. This years’ event is slated for September 4 - 6 at Marriott Hotel, Manhattan in in New York City. In 2014, the celebrations were held in the city of San Diego.

This gathering brings together people from all walks of life; in business, education, culture, leadership, diversity technology and more.

Former executive director of the Uganda Investment authority is expected to preside over the three day fete.
Other Ugandans expected are television and radio personality Flavia Tumusiime, singer Juliana Kanyomozi and belly dancer based in San Francisco, Delilah Bisase.

Eddy Kenzo fresh from the BET awards will also work the delegates through his magical hits like Sitya Loss.

Speaking on behalf of the Uganda festival organisers, Mr David Muwanga confirmed that the team is looking forward to an exciting and fully packed Labor Day weekend.

“As citizens of the world we care about strengthening our community institutions, living healthy, fighting to eliminate poverty and we strive to preserve our great family values that are a treasure for the young generation” Mr Muwanga said.

“We are excited to announce that all our entertainers have their VISAs and tickets to New York. A host of former Miss Uganda queens including Ms Stella Nantumbwe, Ms Salma Nassanga who also doubles as the Uganda festival community initiative ambassador 2015, North America based Barbra Kimbugwe and Victoria Nabunya will all participate in the festival,” Mr Muwanga added.

The festival will commence on Friday September 4 at 8:00am with check in to different hotels, registration and getting festival badges, then a tour around the most famous financial district of the world-Manhattan, New York.

Dr Maggie Kigozi will give a keynote speech at the Business Expo

Later in the day, a business expo will take place with a key note speech from Former executive director of the Uganda Investment authority, Dr Maggie Kigozi, a presentation from Dr Daniel Kiwuwa and Mali enterprise CEO Mr Frank Gashumba.

The BET award winner and a host of other talented artistes will then take control of the event starting Friday evening heading into the weekend before North American Djs take the rest of the night to entertain the delegates with Ugandan rooted music.

On Saturday, a gateway to the famous Randall Island awaits the delegates; here they will be treated to soccer and golf experience presided over by Canadian based Justus Mirembe before summing it up with the Grand Feist BBQ.
Saturday will be climaxed with a boat dinner cruise on the beautiful Hudson River.

Sunday will start with discussions on developmental issues at the festival town hall ending it with a high note concert from 11pm to 2:00am graced by among others; Dr Jose Chameleone, Rema Namakula and Juliana Kanyomozi.
