Fake mercury dealer arrested

LIRA: The North Kyoga regional police flying squad on Friday arrested a suspected fake mercury dealer.

The suspect’s luck ran out when he obtained Shs2.5 million from Mr Moses Awio after giving him an object he claimed was containing mercury.

The North Kyoga regional police spokesperson, Mr David Ongom Mudong, said the suspect claimed he bought the fake mercury from Mr Charles Opira, a student of Gulu University.

“It’s the second time the suspect is being arrested over the same fake business,” he said on Sunday.
