MP Kabaziguruka released on bail

  • The presiding judge Yasin Nyanzi however, ordered Kabaziguruka to report to the court registrar every after 15days as part of his bail conditions.

The High Court in Kampala has released Nakawa Division MP, Michael Kabaziguruka who is facing treachery charges before the Army court.
Kabaziguruka was on Thursday granted a cash bail of Shs5 million on addition to another non-cash bail of Shs10 million.
Kabaziguruka’s sureties who included Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president Gen Mugisha Muntu, the Lord mayor Erias Lukwago, FDC spoke's person Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante were each bonded Shs100 million not cash.
The presiding judge Yasin Nyanzi however, ordered Kabaziguruka to report to the court registrar every after 15days as part of his bail conditions.
And in case he’s to travel outside Uganda, he should report to the court registrar for permission.

Mr Kabaziguruka and 50 others are accused of treachery and they are being tried in the General Court Martial, whose jurisdiction he has contested.
Kabaziguruka applied to the High Court seeking bail in a special session that started on Monday.
