MP Kyagulanyi denies meeting with President Museveni

KAMPALA. Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu also known as Bobi Wine has described allegations making rounds on social media that he met with President Museveni secretly at the president’s Kisozi home as “a big lie”.

In a statement released Saturday evening, Bobi Wine says the pictures that are being circulated showing the singer with President Museveni were taken on September 16.

“These pictures were taken back stage in Budaka District last Saturday September 16 when I was having a show as you can see we were with fellow artists Godfrey Lutaaya, Irene Namatovu, Mikie Wine and many others".

Mr Kyagulanyi just returned from the US where he attended a conference of politicians from around the world including the former US President Barrack Obama.

The singer musician turned politician has faced criticism from sections of the public after he left the country in the wake of the expected tabling of a motion seeking leave of parliament to enable drafting of a bill seeking amendment of Article 102b of the Constitution.

Kyagulanyi however expressed that there was not bad intention in case he met Museveni to discuss his retirement and peaceful transition of power.
