Missing school girl found unconscious

Kampala. A primary Six pupil of Joy Nursery and Primary School in Kibira Zone, Makindye Division, Kampala, who went missing yesterday was last evening found unconscious and immediately rushed to Kiruddu hospital.
Shushma Atuhura, 12, went missing from her parents’ home on Salama Road, a Kampala suburb, as she waited to be picked-up by her school van.
Atuhura’s father, Mr Hanan Magezi, confirmed to Daily Monitor that her daughter went missing just before she was picked-up by the school van. The girl went missing between 5.45am and 6am.
Atuhura is usually picked from home by the school van and taken to school every day.
“They were waiting for the school van with her young sister, the young sister left her and went to look for something. On return, she found her missing, there was only her bag but the girl was nowhere to be seen,” Mr Magezi said. By the time the school van arrived home, the girl was nowhere to be seen.
Mr Magezi, a technician doing private contracts, explained that after her daughter went missing, the family frantically searched for her but failed to find her.
Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the girl had been found and taken to Kiruddu hospital. He said the girl’s parents had been informed.
According to Mr Owoyesigire, the girl said she had gone out to ease herself when she was grabbed by two unidentified men, who forced her to drink something before she passed out.
