Moroto LC5 boss rallies youth to shun marrying circumcised girls

Moroto. The district chairperson of Moroto District in Karamoja Sub- region in North eastern Uganda, Mr. Andrew Napaja Keem has launched a door to door campaign rallying boys in the district to shun marrying girls who have undergone Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Mr. Napaja who launched the campaign last month that is being implemented in the district said it would curb the archaic culture that the government has outlawed.

According to Mr. Napaja, “We want to use all available means to stop FGM in Moroto district. The act is being practiced especially in Tepeth County in Moroto district,” he said.

Mr. Napaja appealed to other development partners to join hands with his office to fight the practice.
