Mother seeks education aid for former conjoined twins

KABALE.
The mother of conjoined twins, who in 2011 successfully underwent a surgical operation to separate them, has appealed to government to help her children get education.
Ms Rosette Tusiime, 27, delivered the conjoined twins through cesarean section at Kabale Hospital on June 10, 2011.
When Sunday Monitor broke the story, government intervened to ensure the separation of the twins.
“I highly appreciate the contribution so far received from government, especially funding my trip to Egypt where my conjoined twins were separated. I thank Mulago hospital for their funding of the operation. I appeal to the government to consider enrolling my twins under the State House education sponsorship scheme to be guaranteed a bright future,” Ms Tusiime told Sunday Monitor at her home in Kabale Town this week.
Successful operation

The twins Trevor Beinomugisha and Timothy Twinomugisha, are currently in a kindergarten in Kabale Town.
While at home, Beinomugisha and Twinomugisha are inseparable. They eat and play together. They sing gospel songs, clean their teeth and ride bicycles together.
“Delaying to serve food to either of the two annoys the other. He demands quick service for his brother. They enjoy eating rice and beef or fish soup. When one falls sick, the other one gets uneasy too. It has not been easy to raise these children up to this level. Challenges have been a lot and they still exist,” Ms Tusiime said.
During the International Women’s Day celebrations at Kabale Golf Course last Sunday, President Museveni and his wife donated unspecified amount of money in two envelopes to the twins.
The Kabale District Woman MP, Ms Ronah Rita Ninsiima, said she had been supporting the mother and called for more support to the children. Their parents have no stable source of income.
