MPIGI- More than 160 NRA veterans, village leaders and liberation war victims, who have since Tuesday pitched camp at Mpigi District headquarters, have vowed not to leave until President Museveni meets them.

Led by Sgt. Ismail Sserubbo (RA 9737), a member of Reserve Force in Mpigi District, the disgruntled group have decried government’s failure to clear their pension and gratuity arrears.

“We believe the President will understand our situation since he is a fighter like us,” he said.

The group claim they have in the last two decades, made several attempts to meet the President in vain. They have resolved to march to State House Entebbe if the latter doesn’t meet them by tomorrow (Saturday).

“He (Museveni) conducts meetings with people we don’t even know. Why can’t he spare time for us?” Mr Sserubbo asked
However, Hajji Swaibu Lubega, the Mpigi District Resident Commissioner, asked the veterans to remain calm, saying his office will ensure that their issues are addressed.
