President Museveni re-appoints Col Bantariza

Col Shaban Bantariza reappointed deputy Executive Director Uganda Media Centre
President Yoweri Museveni has re-appointed Col Shaban Bantariza as Deputy Executive Director Uganda Media Centre, barely two months after he was acquitted by the General Court Martial at Makindye.
This was confirmed by the Director Uganda Media center, Mr Ofwono Opondo.
According to Mr Ofwono, Col Bantariza's papers have been sent to the Public Service Commission for vetting and he would return to office if his papers are approved.
Col Bantariza was first appointed as the deputy executive director at the Uganda Media Center in 2013.
Four months later in July 2013 he was arrested, charged and remanded over fraud related offences while still the director of National Leadership Institute (NALI).
He had been charged with seven offences which included misappropriation of resources, forgery, conspiracy to defraud, ill treatment of subordinates and misconduct.
However, on April 14 this year, Court chaired by Maj Gen Levi Karuhanga acquitted Col Bantariza on grounds that prosecution failed to prove a case against him.
