Are things falling apart in FDC, DP

In his popular novel titled Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe proclaimed that when the centre can no longer hold, things fall apart. For a long time, we have been told that Opposition political parties in Uganda are just power hungry, but not to transform or deliver services to the nation. Recently, Uganda was hit by Maj Gen Mugusha Muntu walking away from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and later a boxing competition of the Democratic Party (DP) members Mathias Mpuga and Mukasa Mbidde’s supporters during their party’s re-union in Masaka.
When he joined FDC in 2004, Gen Muntu described the NRM as a party that had gone against its principles. But when he joined FDC, we expected that he would make it the party he wanted it to be, but after 14 years now, he leaves FDC saying it is a discriminatory. It was embarrassing to see a fight between MPs Mpuga and Mbidde as it portrayed Opposition political parties as disorganised and not interested in taking power. Opposition political parties have not learned the simple art of living together.
