Kobs are crossing their fingers that Justin Kimono will confirm his fitness and availability ahead of the Uganda cup final berth with Protector Heathens on Saturday.

Kimono is nursing an ankle injury sustained during the second leg of the Elgon Cup in Kenya following a tackle by Kenya fly half Nato Simiyu. He was stretchered off before half time.

The jet heeled winger has resumed training after sitting out for a month. The injury has barred him from taking part in the Uganda Cup, missing games against Gulu Elephants, Mutoni Warriors and Ezee money Rhinos which almost upset Kobs. “I am having light training sessions to help me regain full fitness because I am dying to be part of the final,” said Kimono.

The 22 year old also believes he has a great chance of lining up against rivals Heathens in a home final at Legends Rugby Grounds. “I am positive on being fit by Saturday and I have 70 per cent chances of passing the fitness test on Thursday,”

Kimono has won four Uganda Cups with Kobs in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
“I want to win as many accolades as possible as long my career is still alive, hunger for wins keeps me going,” added Kimono.

Kimono in recent times has struggled to cross the white line against Heathens having scored a mere two tries against them in their last six meetings.
