KAMPALA- Every budding player in the Arua District Boys’ team that lifted the Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) West Nile region title dreams of playing for the Uganda Premier League (UPL) surprise team Onduparaka at one moment.

Arua beat Yumbe Heroes 1-0 at Arua Primary grounds on Sunday to lift the trophy after exhibiting attacking and free-flowing football akin to Onduparaka style of play.

Onduparaka star players like attacking left winger Gaddafi Wahab were present to cajole the boys to glory and give them courage that they could also make it to the top if they continued to dream.
Clement Taban scored the winning goal for Arua as they also bagged Shs1m cash prize.

In the girls’ category, Paidha Black Angels beat Yumbe District Girls 2-0 to win the West Nile region title.

KCCA and Kibuli SS star Allan Okello helped Arua based Destiny Sports Academy to win the Northern Region title by overcoming One Step At A Time (OSAAT) 4-3 on penalties.

Airtel Uganda’s Brand and Assets Manager, Musa Muyanja maintained they are committed to supporting the U-17 tourney to tap and develop talents from the grassroots level. The ARS tourney national finals will take place in Lira at the end of the month.
