KCCA striker Nsibambi signs for Egyptian club

Kampala.

It is every player’s dream to go professional and KCCA striker Derrick Nsibambi achieved that when he completed his move to Egyptian Premier League side Smouha on Tuesday.
Nsibambi, who penned a three-year deal with the Alexandria based club has been supplementing Muhammad Shaban in the goal hunt domestically and on the continent.
“I am happy to join a great club in great football country. My mission as usual is to add value on the team,” Nsibambi, who missed KCCA’s 9-0 mauling of Synergy at Lugogo, said after the switch.
According to club publicist Moses Magero, Nsibambi, is still eligible to play in Saturday’s mouthwatering Uganda Cup final between reigning kings KCCA and newly crowned league champions Vipers.
With back-to-back Caf Champions League fixtures against Tunisian giants Esperance coming mid next month, KCCA will look to Shaban, who netted 13 goals in the just concluded league season, for firepower.
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi can for now look for goals from Shaban, Steven Sserwadda and Patrick Kaddu yet in the long run, he has new signing Sulaiman ‘Mike’ Mutyaba.
Injuries have conspired to deny Nsibambi a fruitful season, by his standards, compared to the previous four seasons at the club.
