The imposing 2-0 Uganda Cup semifinal win over his former club KCCA on Wednesday gave Vipers coach a huge sigh of relief and he has promised to unleash more wrath in Sunday’s return leg at Buikwe.

His job security was premised on providing silverware this season and now stands 90 minutes away from the final.

“I don’t think I can ever effortlessly lose to KCCA. I have the blue print of their team set-up since I recruited most of the players while still coach at Lugogo. The moment my players followed the tactical script at Nakivubo, the next step was for KCCA to freeze out of the game,” Nsimbe revealed.

He adds that his side is not going to defend in the return leg but rather attack KCCA the entire minutes to smash the Lugogo side’s double dream.

‘Open’ second leg

“How can I sit back and defend when I have shrewd attack minded players like Erisa Ssekisambu, Alfred Leku, Joseph Ssemujju, Pius Wanji and Kezironi Kizito? We are going to open up play and I expect a goal-laden match,” he warned.

Up to now KCCA coach Mike Mutebi still doesn’t know what hit his players as they were taken to the football school by a ruthless Vipers. “A day before, my defenders were superb in training, come match day, they looked so horrible and could have considered a dozen,” he said.

The league winning coach however sees light at the end of the tunnel and continues to preach the ‘comeback’ gospel.

“On a positive note, we are welcoming back defensive midfielder Ivan Ntege and defenders Dennis Okot and Hassan Wasswa Dazo in training. We hope their timely return can be a tonic boost as we bid to upset Vipers - and it’s possible because football is a game of two halves,” Mutebi added.

The winner of this tie will face off with either Entebbe or Onduparaka in the finals on June 18 at Nakivubo stadium. Onduparaka led their encounter 1-0.
