KAMPALA. That both Police and Maroons feel hard done by their 2-2 result from the highly entertaining game at Namboole on Tuesday tells of the clubs’ ambitions in the Azam Uganda Premier League this season.
Police maintained a one point lead over Onduparaka coming from two goals down to salvage a draw.

Yet still, coach Abdallah Mubiru was left frustrated by the result.
“It is two points dropped because we created enough chances to win the game. I don’t want to talk about referees but I thought we were denied a genuine goal,” Mubiru said.
His displeasure stemmed from a Yasin Mugume effort that was disallowed by centre referee Brian Nsubuga for an infringement on Maroons goalkeeper Ashadu Bugembe that would have put his side 3-2 ahead.
By then, the enterprising Mugume and a Ben Ochen penalty had drawn them level after they trailed 2-0.

Pius Obuya scored the opener from a Solomon Walusimbi cutback before the latter headed in a freekick.
“The referee awarded a non existent penalty then when we had a chance to score he called for a foul rather than letting us play on,” Maroons coach Asaph Mwebaze fumed. His team was however also guilty of fluffing their lines when presented with good opportunities with Walusimbi blazing over after being teed up by Obuya.
The result left moved Maroons to 13 points from nine games two behind third placed Vipers.
