Striker Nsibambi says sorry to KCCA, promises goals

Kampala.

The bad blood between striker Derrick Nsibambi and KCCA is no more after the forward held a lengthy reconciliatory meeting with manager Mike Mutebi yesterday morning.
Nsibambi, who scored Uganda Cranes’ sole goal at the Chan tourney in Morocco, was pushing a move to either Egypt or Morocco but KCCA were reluctant to sell their prize asset just days to the kickoff of the Caf Champions League campaign.
“I have talked to the coach in his office this morning and everything is sorted now. I’m still a KCCA player and I will resume training next Monday,” Nsibambi told Daily Monitor yesterday.
He has been kept out of KCCA’s Uganda Cup encounter against Mbarara FC this weekend as he regains his composure and focus.
Mutebi had hinted on meting out punishment to Nsibambi who has been away since early December.
“Everything is now sorted. I look forward to adding to my four goals in the league as I chase the leading goal scorer in the league. He is still within my sight,” he added.
Nsibambi believes he can recapture the great run he had last year’s Caf Confederations Cup with new striking partner Muhammad Shaban.

Muleme seals Egyptian move
Relatedly, KCCA confirmed that Uganda Cranes left-back Isaac Muleme has had successfully switched to Egyptian club Al Assouity Sports Club. The former SC Villa defender handed in a transfer request in December with six months left to his contract.
KCCA are set to rake in $10000 (35m) as Muleme joins Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (at Al-Gaish) in the Egyptian league. Mustapha Kizza, Herbert Achai and Hassan Musana are the earmarked replacements for Muleme..
