Jamaica’s Macka Diamond for Valentine’s gig

Jamaican artiste Macka Diamond is slated to jet into Kampala on Wednesday ahead of her Valentine’s Day performance. The singer billed for her song titled Dye-Dye will headline the lover’s day celebrations at Club Venom on Friday.

Gareth Onyango, Club Venom’s manager said that Diamond will be stage for one and a half hours, starting at 8pm. “It is going to be a fun-packed evening,” he said, adding that she will be flying in with three queen dancers.

Diamond whose birth name is Charmaine Munroe is also known as Lady Cham. She is a daughter of reggae producer Phillip Munroe and has been persistent as a musician having done several unsuccessful singles. She has two albums to her name; Money-O released in 2006 and Don’t Disturb Mi released in 2012.

Her song Dye Dye is one of the biggest hits on the nightclub scene at the moment in the country.

Onyango said they are looking at attracting at least 1,000 revellers for this music show. The gig kicks off at 7pm and goes on till late. Entrance is 40k for singles and 70k for couples.
