Local film makers arrive in Lagos for AMVCAs

Uganda received a remarkable number of nominations in the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards that will be held today.
And the excitement has been building up.
On Friday, the nominees that were flagged off by the Uganda Communication Commission touched and have since resided at the Eko Suites where the award ceremony and festivities will be taking place.
Among the nominees are Cinderella Sanyu alias Cindy, Best Actress for her role as Bella in Matt Bish’s film with the same title, others are Raymond Rushabiro and Joan Agaba for Best Actor and Best Actress for their roles in The Torture.
The Nabwisos with their debut production Rain got a nod for Best East African Film, other Ugandan nominees include Devil’s Chest, a film about the LRA leader Joseph Kony, The Forbidden, the winner of Best East African film at this year’s Zanzibar International Film Festival.
The awards will again be co-hosted by South Africa’s Minnie Dlamini-Jones, and Nigerian on-air-personality, IK Osakioduwa.
