Clothes that will kill your confidence

Looking sleek and dapper might be as perspective as a glass half–empty or half–full.

But make no mistake. Certain clothes, however comfortable they make you feel, instead make big fashion mistakes. Remember, clothes add to a man’s grace and attitude.

Doing away with clothes that only make you nothing short of a comedy is wise.

Besides, looking good not only makes us feel good but attracts compliments from those around you.

Here is room now for you to clean out your closet and in the name of charity, donate to the needy. Or a trip to the local tailor will neat you up in no time.

Jeans that are too long
“A man needs to find an outfit that fits at length the size of his leg.

Jeans do not need to fold at the bottom but sit lightly over one’s ankle, and rest easily over the shoe,” argues Felix Ojok, designer at Yoyeta Clothings.

Jeans like every other pair of trousers you own, ought not to be too long else that mass at the leg makes your jeans, trousers and chinos look baggy; even when you’ve made every attempt to keep things on the slim side. Maybe create those DIY cuffs that suck in the rest of the mass,” he says.

Frumpy or ill-fitting suits
“Generally, ill-fitting clothes are terrible and would take the expensive out of that suit if it does not fit.

You come off looking like a man from the village,” Guy Zziwa, creative designer at DEG resounds thoughts of Ali Musoke, a tailor in Kikuubo. “All my clients, however old or young, prefer suits that fit them. It is the genesis of having clothes tailor–made, to wear them fitting,” Musoke says.

These simply show you are aware of your body and build your boardroom bravado. Nothing commands attention of colleagues like a power suit.

Worn out underwear
Never task yourself to take off your pants at the pool or the beach with holes parading your underwear.

Whether on the down side, waist area; where ever! Toss out sorry excuses for undergarments along with anything else showing signs of wear and tear.

Retain your decency of manhood in better-quality briefs; invest in a nice pair of boxers and brief hybrid (tighter thigh up boxers).

Those are acceptable for men unafraid of showing a little extra leg when dropping trousers.

Anything in this line left in your wardrobe is an insidious error. “No man needs psychological intervention to know that certain clothes make him sloppy.

Worse still if they are creased, unironed and badly faded out,” says Zziwa who is clad in a fitting pair of blue pants and matching shirt.

Climb the corporate ladder in something trimmer, slimmer , clean and manly.

Dirty or stained clothes early in the day
“What kind of man are you if you walk out of your room with clothes you wore two days in a row, or wore in a spacing of a day without washing?” asks professional model Emolsa Hasasha.

Psychologically, you would be aware of the fact that that shirt is unwashed and that a workmate or a critical friend might notice.

Your confidence would be drowning in shame of hiding and that definitely takes away from the man you are. No responsible woman seeks the company of a dirty man.
