Christmas came early for over 174 households and 226 vulnerable children as they received gifts ahead of Christmas.
It was all merry at Ssuubi Nursery and Primary School in Kammengo Sub-County, Mpigi District, on Friday after a faith based organisation donated tangible items to needy families as part of the Christmas celebrations.

Pastor Sam Akol, the Bread from Heaven Outreach International's director, said they offered support to disadvantaged and desperate children from poor families to give them hope and relieve them from stressful time during this festive season.
"We are a ministry dedicated to serve and care for the needy. Our main purpose is to support the vulnerable children and their families, and this is an annual event dubbed as Christmas Dinner. We help them to come to the level of feeling loved; they shouldn't feel that they're completely left out. I prefer that they get their feelings back and also feel that they're part of the community," he said.

Bread from Heaven Outreach International together with their friends; All Canadian Sponsors and Jorja's Journey, donated tangible items worth Shs.11Million to over 174 households and 226 vulnerable children.
Mr Francis Ojara, Programmes Coordinator said they offered items like clothing, buckets, chicken, rice, cabbages, cooking oil, tomatoes, pineapples, sodas and party with the community.

He added that they managed to identify the poor families (who couldn't afford the basic needs like accommodation, clothings and fail to go to school) with help of village chairpersons in parishes; Muyira, Kyanja, Kibanga and Kanyike in Kammengo Sub-County, Mpigi District.
"The local leaders helped us a lot to make good selection process. We wish all of them a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year," Mr Ojara said.
