Disputed access road not in Kirumira’s land- surveyors

Both Mr Kirumira and Dr Khingi have been embroiled in the land dispute which culminated into a public face off between the minister of Security, Gen Elly Tumwine and former Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen Charles Angina as they intervened on opposing sides.

The dispute between businessman and socialite Godfrey Kirumira and Mulago Hospital Surgeon, Dr Ben Khingi over a boundary on land in Muyenga, an upscale Kampala suburb has been amicably resolved.
A joint survey exercise led by the State House revealed that the access road which has been a point of contention for years now is not in Mr Kirumira’s land.

Both Mr Kirumira and Dr Khingi have been embroiled in the land dispute which culminated into a public face off between the minister of Security, Gen Elly Tumwine and former Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen Charles Angina as they intervened on opposing sides.

The dispute resulted from a disagreement over a boundary between two plots of land on Tank Hill Road, Muyenga in Makindye Division.
Gen Angina, the deputy coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation is a tenant to Dr Khingi on the property neighbouring Hotel International 2000, Muyenga owned by Mr Kirumira.
Senior Private Secretary to the President, Ms Mariam Namayanja Kiwanuka who oversaw the joint survey said both parties agreed to their findings and have amicably resolved their dispute.
“It was a problem of the boundary but as neighbours, they have agreed amicably. No more quarrels and what is going to happen is peaceful settlements because everything has been sorted,” Ms Namayanja told the press on Wednesday evening.

Ms Namayanja revealed that the State House intervention followed a request by Gen. Tumwine to have the matter resolved.
Mr Kirumira confirmed the development saying he was contented with the survey findings.
“Whatever happened was over a boundary on land was a small matter and it is now resolved. Dr Khingi is my neighbor and Gen Angina is my longtime friend and we have agreed to walk and talk as neighbours,” he said.

Both Dr Khingi and Gen Angina agreed with the survey findings commending the State House team for mediating the process.
“We are going to have positive interaction based on the new results to better our area,” said Dr Khingi regretting the inconveniences and distress that were occasioned to his tenant, Gen Angina and his family.
Dr Khingi said that he will seek for all possible ways to repair and maintain a cordial and warm neighbourly relationship with the proprietors of Hotel International 2000, Muyenga.
In the first public fallout on November 23, footage was released on social media, showed Mr Kirumira, dressed in shorts, being dragged in the mud as he fought off men he said were attempting to grab his land.
