Kagadi murder: Woman held as police mounts manhunt

Police in Kagadi District are holding a woman in connection with the brutal murder of Abudalla Ntambara a renowned businessman in the area.

The Albertine Regional police spokesperson, Mr Julius Hakiza told Daily Monitor during a telephone interview on Monday that one woman whose identity remains withheld was arrested on Sunday to aid police investigations into the shooting of Ntambara who was gunned down in Kasojo trading center, Mpeefu sub county in Kagadi District.

He was shot dead while in his shop on Thursday evening at around 9:10pm by an assailant who was riding on a motorcycle.

"One person has been arrested and we expect to arrest more others because operations are still going on. She is being interrogated over the murder incident” he said.

Asked about whether police have recovered the suspected killer weapon, Hakiza said police is widely investigating the matter to bring the culprits to book.

Ntambara was laid to rest on Saturday.
Mr Samuel Muikirane alias Dr Masanduku, the Bunyoro Region traditional healers’ chairperson condemned the act and called for expeditious investigations into the murder of their colleague.

The deceased was the chairperson of traditional healers in greater Kibaale.
