Nabbanja named UNOC new boss

Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) yesterday confirmed Ms Proscovia Nabbanja as the new chief executive officer.
The announcement was made in a press statement signed by the board chairperson, Mr Emmanuel Katongole.

“Board of directors of the Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) announces the appointment of Ms Proscovia Nabbanja as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the company,” the statement reads in part.
With a 17-year experience in the oil and gas industry, Ms Nabbanja will be tasked to ensure the company yields profits to its shareholders and execute the company’s five-year plan.
Mr Katangole said the board is confident of Ms Nabbanja’s competence to deliver on her mandate.

“The Board of Directors is confident that Ms Nabbanja’s appointment will propel UNOC to greater heights given her vast knowledge, drive, enthusiasm and experience in the petroleum industry,” Mr Katongole said.

Previously, Ms Nabbanja served as principal geologist in the Petroleum Exploration and Production Department in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
