President Museveni has urged Ugandans to protect the environment and shun using acaricide to kill tsetse flies.
The President made the call at St Luke Nshwerenkye Church of Uganda in Kiruhura District where he attended Christmas Day service together with his wife Janet Museveni.
Mr Museveni said government was still undertaking research for the best drug to kill tsetse flies.
Quoting the book of Genesis, he told Christians that God created man and commanded him to fill the world and establish dominion over nature.

Instructed
“Look after the environment because it is your responsibility as per the scriptures,” Mr Museveni said.
He also lauded residents for not fragmenting land but urged them to divide what they earn off the land.
Ms Museveni, who turned 70 years this year, thanked God for bringing Uganda this far.
“Thank you for loving God. I thank God for the love in this church and enabling you to come and celebrate Christmas,” Ms Museveni said.
The main celebrant, the Rev Emmanuel Kwesiga, said Christmas was not about eating but celebrating the life of Jesus Christ.
